Well, Creative COW has been undergoing a major site rebuild and today we are introducing our new front door homepage! We have gotten many nice comments about the COW's new interface and we hope that you will visit and take a look for yourself. It seems that lately, new things are coming daily, so if you haven't visited in a while, you are in for big changes.
The COW homepage also has new features and over the next few days, you will see even more features added.
What are some of the next items that COW members will see in the site? Well, there are many new RSS feeds, archiving and search functions that have and will continue to be added as they are finished. We also have new "skins" that you will be able to customize the site's color scheme with. Don't like our primary choice? We'll give you some other color schemes to choose from. Watch for these and even some secret project features, coming soon!

Perspective Corner Pin Effect
In this Tutorial, Creative Cow Leader Aharon Rabinowitz shows you a complete workflow for using Imagineer Systems Mocha with Adobe After Effects to create a perspective corner pin effect - an effect typically used for sign replacement or compositing video on a computer or television screen. Even if you're not using After Effects as your compositing application, you will still find the lesson extremely useful, as it focuses almost entirely on the use of Mocha's powerful 2.5D planar tracking system. After Effects users not using Mocha will also find some of the compositing tips at the end very helpful as well.

Here are some hot threads going on right now around Creative COW!
Apple Final Cut Pro Forum :
Buying a New MacPro
I've done it. You've done it. We've all priced out the top of the line MacPro - the one with an ungodly amount of ram, limitless hard drive space, and the mother of all - the 8 core processor. the question is, what does the 8 core do that the lower cpu speeds dont? Do they all play HD without dropping frames? Does it allow more realtime fx or what? Even though I'd love to get the 8-core MacPro, is there really any reason I should?
AVID Editing Forum :
Project sharing on Avid
I'm editing a one hour film on Avid Xpress 5.7 (mac) and am hoping to tag-team edit with a colleague. We are each cutting different segments within the film and then hope to swap them back & forth, each of us making changes as we go. We have two LaCie Terrabyte external drives with all the media on them (they were identical until we each starting working on our individual edits.)
Can we import the new segment timelines - without corrupting the media and existing timelines on our respective hard drives? I've just been warned that this may not be as simple as it sounds. Yikes! Any advice would be a great help.
Compression techniques Forum :
Adobe Flash Player to Adopt H.264
The Earth's rotation just shifted! An Adobe Flash software engineer explains much of the tech stuff. The short version seems to be that H.264 content, will be playable in the next Flash Player. Lots of implications here. For me it means H.264, no longer reliant only on Quicktime 7 Player, may be a "safe" choice to encode to.
Adobe After Effects Expressions Forum :
How to obtain an expression later in time
I'm trying to link the opacity, the scale and the levels of many layers to those of one single layer by an expression, that's not too difficult :-)(not for the levels), but I'm trying to get the animations of each layer arriving a little later than the previous one.
That 's to say the same animations, but a little later for each layer (something like 10 frames).
