HDV Format Forum :
HVR 1500 vs M10u...
The HDV converter is for decks like the M10, M15, while the HDMI is for decks/cameras that have HDMI output (V1U, M25, HC5, etc). A number of our customers use it daily without any timecode break issues (we spent a lot of time working through the timecode in HDV). Also, a number of customers use our converters in place of a HVR-1500 (much less money).
We have a M25 deck and various cameras that we test regularly with great results.
