It was easy to be underwhelmed by the MacWorld announcements from ONE company -- but it turns out that many, many OTHER companies had exciting announcements for both creative professionals and Mac fans in general. We've got the best of them here, starting with Gary Adcock's report on great new studio speakers, a must-have iPhone accessory for your car --- and a product that may well redefine workflow as we know it.
Visit the newly renovated COW Blogs for even more stories, including the smallest portable array yet, multiple perspectives on the MacBook Air, the interesting alternative offered by the Axiomatic ModBook, new server possibilities, new accelerated rendering for the Mac....
...and a combination iPod dock and toilet paper dispenser. Yes, really.
So before you wave off this year's show as major snoozer, take a look at a few of the reasons why we think this was the best MacWorld in years.
PS. Plenty of news here for PC folks, too - for example, plenty of pro storage news, and we're pretty sure that the iPod dock/toilet paper holder is platform independent.

The Creative COW Master Series of DVD training offers world-class education that even artists can afford. Every Master Series title is created by a working pro, earning a living with the techniques they teach. But you already knew that, right?
Here are some things you might not know: some of the authors in the Master Series have new articles posted at the Cow. These include Walter Biscardi on "Real-time Sequences in FCP," Aharon Rabinowitz on weather replacement in AE, Shane Ross's ultimate FCP FAQ, and Stephen Smith's FCP/Motion tutorial on advanced page peels. You'll see them listed here in the newsletter and in the Creative COW Library.
The best news? Buy 2 or more Creative COW Master Series DVDs, and receive complementary shipping anywhere in the world. (Note: shipping will be charged, then refunded.) But this offer is only good through the end of January, so don't delay! Visit the Creative COW Master Series store!

archiving, again
Now that everybody's present or next camera is tapeless, what do we do about archiving our acquisition material? (And what do we call it, anyway? Not "camera tapes" anymore.) I don't want to discard the out-takes, only to find out that I need them a year or five years from now.

Internship Questions
I think there is something to be said for the contrarian; the person who zigs when the rest of the crowd zags. Plus, I have to admit I've always been intimidated by the coasts and the enormous over-abundance of competition and talent there.

quality on net
I have tried several different formats and bit rates but with no luck. Is the internet simply not ready for 640 x 480 videos yet, or is there a magical setting I can use to get decent results?
